SERVICE ABOVE SELF

Carson Armstrong is Rotary Student of the Month for

September 2016

Carson Armstrong

Warwick High School Senior Carson Armstrong was honored as Student of the Month by The Lititz Rotary Club at their regular meeting on September 27, 2016 held at the General Sutter Inn.  Carson was accompanied by her parents, Ryan and Alison Armstrong as well as her sister Tanner who attends 8th grade at the Warwick Middle School.

As a leader at Warwick, Carson served as Class Secretary in 11th grade and is the 12th grade Class Secretary as well.  Carson is an accomplished athlete serving as Captain of the girls and was honored with “Heart of a Warrior” award for lacrosse.  She has also been an assistant lacrosse coach for the Lititz Youth Lacrosse League for four years. In addition, Carson participates in girls’ basketball.

Carson exemplifies the Rotary value of “Service Above Self” by a strong commitment to serving others. Currently, she serves as Vice President of the Warwick Chapter of Aevidum, a club, with the motto “We’ve got your back!”  Aevidum is an enthusiastic and caring group of students who come together to inspire kindness, help the school community recognize symptoms of depression and help prevent teen suicide. This Warwick club is connected with other Aevidum groups in Lancaster County and beyond.

In addition to being a Teaching Assistant for Mrs. Gleason at WHS, Carson also works at Oregon Dairy.  Her plans after graduation include attending college for health and physical education, playing lacrosse at the collegiate level and eventually coaching lacrosse.
