On October 11, Lititz Rotary present Lyndsey Mackie, Director of Development for the Byrnes Health Education Center in York, with a gift of $2,000 to support their programs. At the meeting, Mackie expressed her gratitude for our Rotary’s long-term commitment and faithful support in providing funding for the center throughout the 25 years of our partnership. She stated that the support Rotary provides is vital to the success of the center. She also reviewed the many programs, 52 in all, that the center provides for school students. The Byrnes Health Education Center has a student-centered curriculum which is delivered by the request of partnering school systems. By the numbers, the Byrnes Health Education Center provides services to 14 counties in Pennsylvania as well as 17 additional US states and four Canadian provinces. The center recently completed a four million dollar building project which enables it to provide state-of-the-art facilities for accessing instruction.
